Innophos, Inc. is expanding its Coatzacoalcos, Mexico, facilities to increase the site’s food grade phosphate salts and food grade phosphoric acid capacities.

The North America-based company plans to support the worldwide growth for its products providing high quality food grade phosphates and phosphoric acid throughout North and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.

Following the expansion of its tri-calcium phosphate plant at Chicago Heights, completed at the end of March, Innophos is implementing the expansion of the existing food grade phosphoric acid production plant.

It is also upgrading the existing facilities to manufacture a full range of food grade sodium and potassium phosphate salts.

The expansion and upgrades are expected to be completed within the next six to twelve months.
