The company, a pioneer in the ice cream and pastry ingredients market offers three new vegan bases – all clean label and lactose-free – to meet the demand of vegan and lactose-intolerant consumers.

Milan, July 26th, 2024 – Comprital, a pioneer in the ice cream and pastry ingredients market, has introduced, among its 2024 product novelties, Pure Vegan, a line which includes three vegan bases, all clean label and naturally lactose-free.

Comprital thus provides ice cream and pastry operators with a wider range of products to meet the growing demand of vegan and lactose-intolerant consumers. According to research by Renub Research, the global vegan ice cream market is expected to reach $1.056.71 million by 2032, with an annual growth rate of 4.60 percent from 2024 to 2032.

The Pure Vegan line, developed from natural ingredients such as cane sugar and fibers including chicory, citrus, and bamboo, as well as being free from artificial flavors, was created by Comprital’s Research & Development team starting from a fundamental premise: both vegan consumers and those with lactose intolerance should not have to compromise on taste. For this reason, the line comprises three technically different bases to ensure an authentic and satisfying experience that is equitable to traditional ice cream.

Specifically, Pure Vegan includes: “PURE VEGAN P.Z.”, a vegan base designed to be flavored with only sugar pastes; “PURE VEGAN P.G.”, a vegan base designed to be flavored with only fat pastes; and “PURE VEGAN CHOCOLATE”, a vegan base with high percentages of chocolate powder and low-fat cocoa powder.

“The demand for vegan products is becoming increasingly significant in our sector: many people are choosing to adopt a vegan diet for reasons ranging from environmental sustainability to ethics all the way personal health issues, including lactose intolerance,” said Adriano Bert, General Manager of Comprital. “Comprital has always recognized the importance of this market segment, and for this reason, our Research and Development team is constantly working on developing plant-based alternatives and clean label products. Our Pure Vegan line represents an important milestone in this exciting journey, which will continue thanks to the determination and professionalism of our entire team to offer consumers quality products, lactose-free and developed from natural ingredients.”

Comprital – a company part of the Ingredient-Tech Platform aiming to support the evolution of the food ecosystem – boasts a cutting-edge research and development department, always at the forefront in developing plant-based alternatives. With a range of over 160 solutions designed to produce ice cream free of any animal-derived ingredients, this market segment is very significant for the company. In fact, most of Comprital’s vegan offerings are VEGANOK certified – a European standard that guarantees consumers the total absence of animal derivatives in products and adherence to strict ethical standards – to provide producers and end consumers with vegan offerings that resemble traditional craftsmanship and are suitable also for those who are lactose intolerant.
