Glico, a leading food manufacturer most known for its iconic brand Pocky, has unveiled its health and wellness portfolio in Southeast Asia with the introduction of its flagship product, Almond Koka, in Singapore. This milestone follows a series of successful launches earlier in Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines, underscoring Glico’s commitment to providing nutritious yet delicious options throughout the region.

“We are excited to introduce Glico’s flagship Almond Koka, Japan’s No. 1 almond milk, here in Singapore. Almond Koka is the first key product in our health and wellness category for the Asia Pacific market,” said Hideaki Nagahisa, Chief Operating Officer, Glico Asia Pacific. “With more consumers looking for options that are both delicious and nutritious, the arrival of Almond Koka has been highly anticipated, especially as health consciousness grows across the region. This launch complements our core Pocky range, now made with whole wheat and added fibre, giving consumers even more tangible health benefits. With over 100 years of history, Glico remains committed to innovation and quality as we continue to support the health and wellbeing of our consumers today.”

The new health and wellness portfolio in Singapore, led by the launch of Almond Koka, follows Glico’s collaboration with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in October 2023. This first-of-its-kind clinical study in Southeast Asia explored the nutritional and health benefits of almonds in paste form, highlighting their versatility and positive effects on health when consumed whole, as a paste, or in beverages.

First launched in Japan in 2014, Almond Koka marks a new era in almond milk consumption, offering a balanced flavour with a hint of nuttiness and sweetness from whole almond nuts. Its smooth, creamy texture delivers an indulgent drinking experience, while the subtle almond aroma enhances its appeal. As the top-selling almond milk in Japan, Almond Koka has earned its reputation through a commitment to culinary craftsmanship, catering to the refined tastes of Japanese consumers.

Almond Koka will be available in three variants – Original, Chocolate, and Unsweetened starting from S$2.20 for a 180ml pack and S$6.50 for a 1-litre pack

Available in three enticing variants—original, chocolate, and unsweetened—Almond Koka caters to a diverse range of taste preferences. Whether enjoyed on its own, mixed into coffee or smoothies, or incorporated into recipes, Almond Koka brings its unique flavour to any occasion.

In addition to its great taste, Almond Koka is packed with numerous health benefits. Rich in Vitamin E, high in fibre, and free from cholesterol, it serves as a nutritious alternative to dairy milk. As more consumers seek plant-based, lactose-free, and dairy-free options, Almond Koka is an ideal choice for those looking for a wholesome beverage that supports their health-conscious lifestyles. The nourishing nutrients, especially Vitamin E, also help moisturise and repair the skin barrier, promoting a smooth, glowing complexion.

In line with Glico’s brand purpose “Healthier Days, Wellbeing for Life”, Almond Koka was introduced at a special launch event where guests were invited to experience the rich taste and health benefits of Almond Koka firsthand.

Featuring a specially curated programme aimed at enhancing holistic wellness, the event included tasting sessions with an exclusive Almond Koka-infused breakfast jar-making and coffee experience, as well as a rejuvenating yoga class led by wellness coach Brandon Chong. The event not only highlighted the versatility of Almond Koka and its role in supporting daily wellness routines, reaffirming its position as Japan’s No. 1 almond milk, but also underscored Glico’s commitment towards enhancing the wellbeing and health of its consumers.

Looking ahead, Glico is poised for further growth as it continues to expand its health and wellness category. Building on the success of Almond Koka, Glico will continue to introduce more innovative products aimed at supporting consumers’ well-being and meeting the growing demand for healthier options across Asia Pacific.

Retailing at S$6.50 for 1-litre and S$2.20 for a 180ml pack, Almond Koka is now available in Singapore on RedMart, and at retail outlets such as Sheng Siong Supermarket, DON DON DONKI, and 7-Eleven. For more information, please visit @almondkokamysg on Instagram.
