Driven by Epson’s innovative technological advancements, the TM-U220II provides effective and hassle-free retail operations for all fast-paced industries.
Epson, the No.1 vendor for Point of Sale (POS) printers in Southeast Asia, has launched the Epson POS Printer TM-U220II Series, comprising three models – TM-U220IIA, TM-U220IIB, and TM-U220IID. Engineered for reliability, this new series of POS printers will aid restaurant and retail operations with enhanced features. Additionally, exceptional performance will be delivered by fast, high-quality output with an industry standard-setting design.
The growth and demand for POS systems and other associated hardware, such as receipt printers, is driven by the rapid expansion of the retail and food and beverage operations industry. In 2023, the POS Receipt Printer Market size was valued at around USD 4.4 Billion and has an estimated CAGR of 5.3% between 2024 and 2032 across global markets.
The advancement of POS systems is pivotal in the growth of the retail and food and beverage industry. The printers adopt features such as rapid printing, wireless connectivity, and support for diverse payment options. This is driving their demand among retailers, which, in turn, offers further efficiency to the industry’s business landscape.
Enhanced adaptability with three printer types
Each printer type in the series brings its unique variation of advanced operational functions to aid various applications and adapt to any fast-paced environment.
The Type D model offers basic receipt printing, while Types A and B feature an auto-cutter for increased operational efficiency. Additionally, Type A supports journal paper printing, enabling the storage of historical sales transactions for tracking and reporting purposes.
To optimise space, especially in smaller operating areas, Types B and D also offer a wall mounting installation feature, which provides the option to free up desk or counter space for other essential supplies needed.
Improved reliability and easy setup
The TM-U220II series is easy to set up due to its compatibility with various printer interface ports like USB, Serial, Ethernet, Parallel along with an optional Wi-Fi dongle. This flexibility allows for seamless connectivity to a wide range of POS peripherals.
Built for durability, these POS printers have a printer mechanism lifespan of up to 7.5 million lines and an auto-cutter rated for 800,000 million cuts, maintaining a fast printing speed of up to 6.0 lines per second on two-ply paper at the same time. Hence, the longevity of the TM-U220II Series minimises the need for frequent maintenance and printer replacements.
Improved efficiency in retail operations
These printers are also compatible with an optional buzzer OT-BZ20 via a Drawer Kick port. When restaurants are going through peak periods, this buzzer notifies kitchen staff whenever new orders come in. This new feature enables staff to track order lineups better to minimise the risk of missed orders, an enhanced feature of the preceding series, the TM-U220.
“At Epson, we recognise the growing demand for efficiency when it comes to meeting the needs of the food and beverage and retail industries. We will continue to leverage our expertise in cutting-edge technologies to revolutionise the user experience in any of these fast-paced industries. Printers from the TM-U220II Series have been built to thrive in fast, high-pressure environments; they not only offer newly-upgraded features, serving as an updated model to its preceding series, but also incorporate features that better support industry needs through sustainable yet effective means,” said Derek Tan, Head of Sales and Marketing, Epson Singapore.
