Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods) has introduced “CP Bologna with Chilli” as Thailand’s first net-zero product in the food category, reaffirming its commitment to Sustainovation — the integration of sustainability and innovation to deliver food solutions that are good for both people and the planet.

Available in 135g and 150g sizes, the popular ready-to-eat product has been officially awarded the Net-Zero Product Label by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO). The certification was presented by Dr. Wijarn Simachaya, Chairman of the TGO Board, and accepted by Salilrut Pongpanite, Deputy Business Unit Head – Ready-to-eat Food Business, Nong Chok Food Processing Plant, who represented CP Foods at the ceremony.

“This certification marks a significant step in our journey toward more sustainable food choices,” said Ms. Salilrut. “CP Bologna with Chilli is already a consumer favorite, and it now leads the industry as a net-zero product — supporting climate action while maintaining quality, taste, and safety.”

To achieve net-zero status, CP Foods implemented a comprehensive process to minimize carbon emissions across the product lifecycle — from selecting low-carbon raw materials and eco-conscious packaging suppliers, to deploying renewable energy such as biogas and solar at the Nong Chok facility. The company also enhanced production efficiency, reduced waste, and fully offset remaining emissions by purchasing carbon credits equivalent to 500 tons of CO₂e from certified reforestation projects, representing over one million packs of net-zero product.

The certification was granted as part of CP Foods’ participation in the “Corporate Carbon Offset Promotion for Carbon Neutrality (Phase 2)” program — a collaborative initiative by TGO and VGREEN, the Center of Excellence for Environmental Strategy for GREEN Business at Kasetsart University. The program supports businesses in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and implementing carbon offset initiatives across their value chains to move closer to carbon neutrality.

This achievement aligns with CP Foods’ broader goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, underpinned by its Sustainovation strategy, which drives sustainable transformation across its global operations.
