Foodarom presents new flavour trends for 2022

Flavor solutions company Foodarom has shared its 7th annual Flavor Trends for 2022, reflecting the societal shift in the post-pandemic era. With a core theme of learning to re-live again, a team of flavorists want to encapsulate this new era of energy and positivity into unique flavours. This shows how consumers are now moving away from low morale from the past couple of years since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Calling this core feeling as ‘hyper bliss’, these flavours seek to showcase how it is to fuel a joyful life and recapture two main emotions – joyful and mindfulness.

The Tangerine Berry Bliss is a fresh fruity blend with cardamom that embodies a desire for creativity. “The consumers today are different from previous years and that has a lot to do with the pandemic. As we are moving forward, people are looking to rejoice and feel happiness again,” says Noémie Loiselle, Marketing and Commercial Group Director, Foodarom. “Their expectations have changed, including for products. They want improvement and joy, even in flavor.”

On the other hand, the Lotus Fantasy Punch features floral and fruity notes. “Health has been the top priority. We see more of a focus on slowing down, breathing, and incorporating wellness into daily living. It is all about taking back control by letting go and learning to re-live again. That is what we were trying to demonstrate with this new flavor,” Loiselle said.
