KaTech Ingredient Solutions and Ingredion unite to bring unparalleled food system innovation and ingredient solutions to this year’s Plant-Based World Expo in London with a tempting array of sweet and savoury dishes cooked live on stand by its team of development chefs. Ingredion and KaTech’s team of formulation experts are committed to transforming tomorrow’s plant-based products by crafting the perfect blend of ingredients, enhancing taste, texture, and nutrition, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
New ingredients from sustainably grown pea protein, including the VITESSENCE® Prista range of pea and fava bean protein concentrates — designed to help build the right taste, texture, and nutritional profile in formulations while delivering on sustainability demands — will be available to sample. Ingredion’s culinologists and expert food systems teams will be on hand to give advice on how to use these to create plant-based alternatives with great taste and texture, all while balancing product quality and nutritional value and controlling costs.
Cyril Carrat, General Manager at KaTech, said: “We’re really excited to be back at Plant-Based World Expo. This year we’re all about showcasing new ingredients and concepts that are happening in plant-based dairy and meat alternatives, Our popular live cooking sessions give visitors the opportunity to see firsthand how our ingredients and stabilising solutions can be easily incorporated into recipes and, more importantly, to test the final product there and then. It’s also a great opportunity for us to answer questions from development professionals, whether it’s about the recipes we’re cooking up, general troubleshooting or specifics on clean label and sugar or fat reduction.”
Visitors will be able to try out the taste and texture of vegetable balls with pasta sauce, as well as plant-based fermented hard cheese with no-sugar jam and plant-based smoked salmon with gluten-free crackers.
Ingredion will also demonstrate its leading portfolio of sugar-reduction solutions, including stevia-based sweeteners and natural stevia flavourings.
Helen Hook, Regional Growth Platform Lead for Sugar Reduction at Ingredion, said: “We know that with the combination of our technical expertise and our innovative plant-based stevia solutions, sugar-free products can taste just as delicious. In fact, we’re so confident that we’re inviting visitors to come and rate the taste of a sugar free raspberry lemonade we’ve developed using our clean taste solutions.’’
Ingredion and sister company KaTech will be showcasing their latest innovations in high-quality ingredients, such as plant-based proteins and plant-based sweeteners, and well-formulated food systems. To showcase this winning combination, concepts from various categories, including dairy alternatives, meat and fish alternatives, bakery, beverages, and snacking, will be available to taste.
