JBT sets up manufacturing, R&D facility in Spain

To expand its presence in the European market and cater to clients in the region, JBT Corporation is establishing a new facility in Fortuna, Spain. This shop floor, under the Diversified Food and Health Group will be fully operational by late 2021.

This full-service plant is set to manufacture and distribute items from the company’s Fresh Produce Technologies line.  Products include coatings, decay control, cleaners and equipment. It will also house a laboratory for staff to conduct further research and development. Other services provided will be customer care, process knowledge, sales and support as well.

“Over 75% of the world’s citrus juices are produced with JBT technology, and we are thrilled to expand our regional fresh produce presence, especially in Spain,” said John Siddle, JBT Global Product Line Director, Fresh Produce Technologies. “With this local manufacturing and R&D facility, our hope is to create a better support structure and stronger touchpoint for our fresh produce technology customers. We look forward to growing our community and connecting with new and existing customers in the region.”
