PepsiCo awarded prestigious Terra Carta Seal

The Terra Carta Seal is given by His Royal Highness (HRH) The Prince of Wales to companies that are committed to creating sustainable supply chains and markets. This seal symbolises the Terra Carta Recovery Plan which focuses on creating a better future for nature, people and the planet, launched in January 2021.

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, said: “The Terra Carta Seal recognizes those organizations which have made a serious commitment to a future that is much more sustainable, and puts Nature, People and the Planet at the heart of the economy. We all need to make changes if we are to preserve the planet for our children and grandchildren and these businesses have pledged to make it easier for us all to do so.”

PepsiCo was awarded the Terra Carta Seal this year, along with 40 other businesses.  The company has sustainability campaigns aligned with HRH’s initiative, including its pep+ program. With sustainability at its core, PepsiCo is dedicated to continuously provide valuable products and achieve this within planetary boundaries. They will be more mindful with how they source ingredients, manufacture products and sell them, while inspiring others to enact positive change too.

PepsiCo recognizes the need to make a global collaborative effort to save the planet and lower carbon emissions. This is to restore biodiversity, lower global temperatures to 1.5 degrees and preserve the environment for the future generations to enjoy. Further, PepsiCo’s goal involves achieving net-zero emissions by 2040, which they are working hard towards.

“PepsiCo is proud of the steps we are taking to help build a more sustainable food system for both people and the planet,” said PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Ramon Laguarta, “and we are grateful to His Royal Highness for recognizing PepsiCo’s contribution to this global effort. But more than the recognition, we applaud the steps Terra Carta is taking to help create a ‘race to the top’ and rally the world towards a more sustainable future.”
