Singapore-based ProfilePrint, the world’s leading A.I.-driven Ingredient Quality Platform powered by its patented digital food Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) technology, has announced the signing of new agreements with Brazil’s two largest coffee exporting cooperatives, Cooxupé and Minasul, as well as Instituto CNA, a government-supported institution representing Brazil’s agricultural sectors.
By adopting ProfilePrint’s A.I. solutions, these three Brazilian organisations can better support rural producers in rapid quality assessment, improving efficiency and enhancing their market competitiveness globally. As production scales up and environmental concerns grow, the demand for improved food quality standards intensifies. ProfilePrint addresses this challenge with its patented technology, combining a sensor-based analyser and a cloud-based A.I. platform. The company’s analyser captures digital fingerprints of food ingredients, which are digitally processed online via A.I. models on the

This digital fingerprint technology significantly reduces the need for physical sampling and logistics overheads while ensuring consistent quality control and minimising unnecessary rejections. The official signing ceremony was conducted at the Brazil-Singapore Business Leaders Roundtable held on 24 Sep in Sao Paulo, witnessed by Mr Alvin Tan, Singapore’s Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade & Industry.
Non-visual defect (NVD) detection “Orca” Analyser
The signing of these agreements comes after months of groundwork by ProfilePrint’s team in Brazil and Singapore, including partnerships with major clients through extensive R&D efforts. Most notably, these efforts have led to advancements in Non-Visual Defect (NVD) detection, one of the most challenging issues in the coffee industry. Many defects, such as internal bean damage, slight fermentation or early-stage mould, cannot be visually detected but can significantly affect its quality and taste. The natural variability in coffee beans further complicates the challenge. Current detection requires onerous human sensory evaluation, which is subjective and prone to inconsistencies. ProfilePrint’s proprietary A.I. technology is at the forefront of tackling this challenge. ProfilePrint’s early release for some of its major clients in Brazil and China has shown positive results (see Infographic A), with this world’s first commercial A.I. solution for NVD detection expected to launch in early 2025.
Concomitantly, beyond its core in the coffee industry, ProfilePrint also announced its expansion to serve other ingredients and processed food with its official launch of “Orca”, its fifth-generation analyser with a significant extension of its analytical range, more than doubling its data acquisition within seconds. This unlocks more possibilities over and above the existing verticals ProfilePrint is serving, expanding into more complex ingredients requiring higher sensitivity, such as flavourings, instant and roasted coffee, and processed food products.
