Epson, a global leader in professional printing solutions, has unveiled its latest thermal point-of-sale (POS) printers—the TM-T82X-II and TM-T82IV—purpose-built to meet the evolving and diverse needs of businesses across the retail and food & beverage sectors.

As high-volume industries rely on fast, dependable, and low-maintenance POS systems, the global market for POS receipt printers is expected to nearly triple by 2033. This growth is fuelled by the surge in e-commerce, the increased adoption of mobile POS systems, and rising retail sales worldwide.

Epson’s new models are designed to meet this need with precision. The TM-T82X-II offers an affordable, entry-level solution for small businesses, while the TM-T82IV is engineered for more demanding environments, delivering enhanced speed, durability, and versatility. Succeeding the popular TM-T82X and TM-T82III models launched five years ago, these next-generation printers combine upgraded performance with a sleek, user-friendly design, making them a powerful asset for businesses managing high-volume transactions.

TM-T82X-II: An affordable entry-level POS printer

Core design modifications

The TM-T82X-II offers a sleek, modern design that enhances business environments at an affordable cost. With its compact footprint and sleek, flat surface, this printer offers a clean and modern appearance, which is adapted to resist water and dust in any environment. Complete with a built-in power supply, these design changes maximise space while keeping counter-tops clutter-free.

Reliable and efficient print performance

With a 25% increase in printing speed of 250 mm/sec, the TM-T82X-II raises the bar by delivering faster results than its predecessor at 200 mm/sec. This makes it a perfect choice for businesses that require consistent, high-speed output during busy operations. Built for longevity, its 1.5-million-cut auto cutter and 100 km print head lifespan minimise part replacements, lowering maintenance costs and downtime while ensuring lasting productivity.

Affordability as an entry model

The TM-T82X-II is optimised to provide businesses with an economical printing solution without compromising on quality and performance.

  • Reliable print quality that ensures professional results for text, logos, barcodes and QR codes, and supports Code128 barcode printing.
  • Advanced thermal printing technology for consistent and high-quality performance.
  • Paper-saving function that is capable of reducing paper usage by up to 30%.

With advanced printing capabilities and sustainable features, the TM-T82X-II is a perfect investment for businesses seeking to streamline costs while maintaining operational excellence.

Flexible connectivity for various POS systems

Enhancing operational flexibility, the TM-T82X-II offers dual interface connectivity, ensuring seamless integration with various POS systems and peripherals. This flexibility simplifies setup, supports quick deployment across diverse environments, enabling businesses to scale efficiently while adapting to evolving technological needs.

TM-T82IV: Versatility for businesses that need it all

The TM-T82IV seamlessly integrates style and functionality, presenting a modern aesthetic that elevates business operations, especially in industries with high-volume transactions such as retail and F&B.

Improved design for easy maintenance

The TM-T82IV features a smoother interface cover with reduced surface unevenness, an essential change for challenging environments such as busy kitchens and F&B retailers, where water and dust resistance are crucial for longevity and hygiene.

Along with considerations for cable management and versatility, an added case cover ensures organised and tidy wiring, keeping countertops and cash wraps clutter-free, while minimising the risk of accidental cable disconnections.

Enhanced durability and reliable print performance

In addition to the features of the entry model TM-T82X-II, the TM-T82IV boasts advanced durability for high-demand workflows. The TM-T82IV outperforms previous models with a 2-million-cut auto cutter, minimising maintenance frequency during peak periods. Engineered for resilience, it sustains continuous uptime while reducing environmental impact with its paper-saving feature. This precision-built printer empowers businesses to enhance service quality and ensure consistent, disruption-free productivity.

Versatile connectivity for different POS setups

Boosting its adaptability for different setups, the TM-T82IV comes equipped with either a dual or triple interface setup, supporting combinations of serial, USB, and Ethernet connections, allowing seamless integration with existing POS systems and peripherals. An optional Wi-Fi dongle enables easy setup of wireless POS configurations, reducing clutter and keeping countertops organised. Further, the TM-T82IV allows for both horizontal, vertical, and wall-hanging placement, adapting to various counter configurations and spatial constraints.

TM-T82X-II and TM-T82IV to maximise business operations

To meet growing business demands, both thermal POS printer models provide reliable printing and smooth integration, offering efficiency as well as enhanced versatility and durability. Designed to excel in diverse environments, from bustling retail stores to high-traffic restaurants, these printers deliver consistent performance under varying conditions. In noisy spaces where audible alerts are necessary, the TM-T82IV supports an external buzzer OT-BZ20, allowing for customisable audio alerts to enhance order management that ensure businesses maintain productivity without compromising customer experience.

“Retail and F&B businesses demand more efficient operational flows, especially during peak periods with quick turnaround times. This calls for greater enhancements in business peripherals to help businesses enhance customer experiences and boost satisfaction,” Derek Tan, Head of Sales and Marketing, Epson Singapore, said. “Epson is dedicated to supporting these high-volume needs as we continue to upgrade our printers’ design and technology with higher efficiency and reduced maintenance.”

The new Epson TM-T82X-II and TM-T82IV thermal POS printers will be available for sale in Singapore from September 2025 onwards. Visit Epson’s website or contact the nearest Epson Authorised Dealer store around you for more information.
