The JBT 2.1m Pressure Rotary is maximizing production capacity while minimizing its footprint.

JBT Corporation, a leading technology solutions provider to the global food and beverage industry, announces the launch of the JBT 2.1m Pressure Rotary. The new rotary sterilizer technology has significantly evolved, providing superior product quality and consistency at a lower cost per unit produced. This evolution in production capabilities is the solution for manufacturers to maximize product output and quality while simultaneously minimizing the facility’s footprint.

The JBT 2.1m Pressure Rotary provides the features and benefits of the standard sterilizer, however, this larger diameter offers an increase in production throughput from 25 percent to 50 percent compared to the 58” (1.5m) pressure rotary with approximately the same floor space. The sterilizer can gently handle a broad range of cans, allowing for high-temperature/short time (HTST) cooking, and rapid, efficient cooling by agitating the container in an automatic, continuous process. This ultimately allows for fewer resources and utility consumption per can while increasing the throughput.

“Our goal for this new addition to our rotary product line was derived from the two things we

continuously strive to provide our partners – simplicity and efficiency,” said Rick Wilson, global product line director at JBT Corporation. “As a result, we are offering a sterilization solution that can do more with less.”

The new sterilizer allows customers to increase capacity with the same floor space or consolidate a number of existing rotary sterilizers into one high-capacity 2.1m rotary. For most applications, the existing 58” (1.5m) rotary thermal process will not change when upgrading to the 2.1m rotary. JBT’s proven sterilizer solutions can minimize downtime and put more high-quality, sellable products in the warehouse to meet your customer demand.

Through advancements in JBT’s rotary sterilizer technologies, customers are empowered to achieve their sustainable food production goals through:

  • Reduced water and energy consumption
  • Lower maintenance and longer machine life
  • Higher throughput in the same footprint
  • Fewer resources per can produced

For over a century, the JBT Continuous Rotary Pressure Sterilizer has been a key player in global food production. With more than 7,500 units in operation since 1921, these sterilizers now process over 50 percent of the world’s canned foods, preserving a vast range of items, including ready-made meals, vegetables, soups, sauces, milk, and non-carbonated beverages. Every year, an estimated 100 billion food cans are produced globally, with the JBT Rotary Pressure Sterilizer being the preferred choice for over half of them.
