Dr. Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, will open the summit, addressing the audience of 1,000 influential stakeholders actively accelerating food security and access to nutrition.

Asia is home to 60 percent of the world’s population, with 75 percent dependent on agriculture for their livelihood and food. Adverse weather events are detrimental to food production and supply worldwide, however, Asia’s diverse geography, partnered with its being forecast to have the largest population growth worldwide by 2050, means the region is particularly vulnerable to climate risks. The agri-food industry must unite to tackle climate-related challenges and discuss how technology and investment can be targeted for maximum positive impact.

Held at Marina Bay Sands on November 19-21, the Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit is the premier leadership forum to discuss these challenges and kickstart the collaborations offering real-world solutions between innovators, investors, food brands, smallholders, and regulators.

Spotlighting the region’s flourishing agri-food innovation ecosystem, this year’s thought-leadership programme will focus on accelerating climate resilience and nutrition security in Asia, a region that produces over half of the world’s food.

As part of Singapore International Agri-Food Week (SIAW), the summit features high calibre keynote speakers, including Guest of Honour, Singapore’s Senior Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, with insightful panels and breakthrough technologies. The three-day programme spans the entire agri-food value chain, showcasing innovations from agri-tech, CEA, food-tech, and aquaculture.

Topics will span regenerative agriculture and AI-driven solutions to climate-smart aquaculture, scaling novel foods, and ensuring targeted and accessible nutrition.

Notable sessions include:

  • Guest of Honour Dr. Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State for Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, will open the summit and take it to the main stage to deliver opening remarks.
  • ‘Nature Investment Opportunities for a Climate Resilient Food System’ panel featuring Flora Ji, Global Vice President Nature Based Solutions, Shell, and Martin Lemoine, Unit Head Agribusiness, Asian Development Bank.

Each day of the summit will have a focus: Climate Adaptation Strategies (Tuesday, Nov 19), Decarbonisation (Wednesday, Nov 20), and Nourishment (Thursday, Nov 21).

Supporting breakthrough innovation, the summit offers many opportunities for start-ups to showcase their solutions.

Start-Up Pitching on the main stage is spread across day one and two, with cohorts split between early stage and later stage companies. Pitching enables both regional and international innovators to speak directly to a global audience of agri-food businesses and investors who are looking for the next big breakthrough technology, or innovation partner.

The summit’s Networking Hub is the place to discover technologies from emerging start-ups alongside established agri-food companies. Booths will showcase everything from the latest machinery and novel foods to sustainably farmed fish and vertically farmed greens. The curated exhibition includes innovations from Clextral, Cremer and TissenBioFarm.

An integral part of the event is the meeting hub dedicated to face-to-face networking. Delegates can reserve dedicated tables for one-to-one time with key decision makers via the summit’s online platform used to schedule meetings, manage their agenda and connect with potential partners.

Organised by Rethink Events in collaboration with Temasek and the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), the summit is part of a full programme of agri-food events taking place during Singapore International Agri-Food Week (SIAW). The crossover between events enhances the business opportunities for attendees, offering even more networking and discovery.

Summit passes are currently discounted by SGD $300 with the Early Bird offer, which expires at midnight on October 3. Use our code AFJ10 to get a 10% discount.
