Purpose Driven and Inclusive E-commerce Platform and Community for Women by Women

Artisan Nook, a purpose-driven and inclusive e-commerce platform and community for women by women, officially launches today. Artisan Nook was founded by Reena Yin. The platform is founded on the principle of creating positive social change in society by empowering women to achieve a sense of self, financial independence and create a personal legacy. The company donates 30 percent of its profits to charities such as the Singapore Cancer Society as part of its commitment to giving back to society.

“Artisan Nook is very close to my heart. It is my homage to my late mother who succumbed to cancer. She had left her corporate job to take care of my brother and me, when we were young children. I want to support women like her through Artisan Nook,” said Reena Yin, Founder of Artisan Nook.

“Artisan Nook is about giving women an opportunity to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams, create their own legacies and at the same time, leave a positive impact that lasts for future generations. We want to empower women by offering an accessible platform. I hope to uplift and inspire women in the community such as the neighbour next door and friends who are stay-at-home mums and mid-career movers to achieve financial independence and work-life balance while celebrating their individuality,” Reena added.

Artisan Nook is home to multiple women-led businesses of all shapes and sizes, from hobbyists to established brands whom customers can purchase directly from. It welcomes entrepreneurs, aspiring or experienced, to easily start or grow their business. Besides being a sales platform, Artisan Nook also offers resources from marketing to packaging and delivery logistics for those who need additional support. The platform will also work towards building its community of women entrepreneurs and business leaders who can lean in and support each other and participate in events such as mentorship, networking and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Entrepreneurial Journey to Create A Lasting Legacy

Reena Yin elaborated on her inspirations for the company, saying, “This is the start of my entrepreneurial journey after over a decade in the corporate world. I understand the challenges women face and want to offer a simple and accessible platform to overcome the various barriers.”

Reena, a mother and former banker, left the corporate world due to her mother’s guilt, coupled with increasing challenges with juggling work and family commitments. She founded the company in pursuit of her sense of self, identity, and personal fulfilment.

“Legacy is important to me. Even as I strive to continue my family legacy, I want to create my own through Artisan Nook to drive lasting positive social impact,” Reena added.

Reena strives to continue her family legacy through Jia-Home Chilli. Initially created as a hobby for friends and family, the 25-year chilli recipe was passed down to Reena by her father-in-law. Driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, Reena transformed the home-based chilli recipe into a commercial product with its own branding and packaging. Jia-Home Chilli is now sold online on Artisan Nook.

Artisan Nook is a purpose driven and inclusive e-commerce platform and community for women by women. Its vision and mission is to empower women to achieve a sense of self, financial independence and create their legacy while creating a wider positive social impact. It was launched in October 2023 by Reena Yin, a mother who left her corporate job and wanted to create a platform that gave women a sense of self and identity. Artisan Nook is Reena’s homage to her late mother and other women, and the various sacrifices they have to make.

Artisan Nook features women-led businesses and organisations of all shapes and sizes, from small hobbyists to established brands. 30% of profits from Artisan Nook are donated to charities, including the Singapore Cancer Society.
