Ball Metalpack, provider of sustainable steel packaging solutions for the food industry, is utilising a new high-speed two-piece can production in line. Integrated in its Milwaukee facility, this technology is already operational and is set to meet the growing demands of consumers and their market. It promotes higher production time, which ultimately leads to lower total costs for Ball Metalpack.

There are currently 4 high-speed lines across the company’s eight manufacturing plants in North America. It has hired about 50 employees with the new production line.

“We’re excited to launch our newest two-piece food can line, increasing our capacity and signaling our commitment to grow with our customers’ needs,” said Jim Peterson, Ball Metalpack chief executive officer. “We continue to see increased demand for our food cans and this large investment in our manufacturing capacity is the direct result of several long-term contracts with key customers.”

Ball Metalpack is a JV established between Platinum Equity and Ball Corporation and based in Colorado.
