Conventional and organic ingredients supplier Capitol Food Company has made significant investments in its facility in La Mirada, California. The blending and packaging plant is showing improvements in efficiency and performance through these upgrades .

The facility contains three dry blending lines for ingredients that’s powered by programmable logic control (PLC) systems. These ensure that the blends used in bakery mixes, bases, coatings and flavorings are accurate each time they are produced.

Additionally, there is also a state-of-the-art flour packing equipment and liquid repacking capabilities for edible oils and glycerin. These feature computerised weighing and fully automatic dry blending lines. For the packaging section, its intermediate bulk containers (IBC) undergo Kosher-certified refurbishing and cleaning.

The ingredients facility is also certified organic, non-GMO Project verified, Kosher, Halal and SQF-certified.

John D. Levi, Vice President of Operations stated, “As a family-owned company we continue to invest in our dedicated employees. We are also committed to having the latest high-tech’ equipment ensuring that we supply ‘safe food ingredients’ in the most efficient way possible, guaranteeing on-time deliveries and excellent customer service to our loyal customers.”
