Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods) was honored with the KFC Asia Recipe For Good Award 2022 from KFC, recognizing its commitment to building a responsible supply chain. Panuwat Niamprem, Head of Integrated Poultry Business, representing the company, received the award during the KFC Asia Supplier Conference 2023, which recently took place at the Sheraton Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

KFC presents the Recipe For Good Award to applaud CP Foods as distinguished partners committed to people, planet, and food safety priorities, particularly in promoting animal welfare in the food supply chain. CP Foods achieved 100% compliance at KFC animal welfare audits in 2022, surpassing the set goal for 2028. Additionally, they have increased transparency and created consistency throughout the food production process. These accomplishments reflect CP Foods’s engagement in building a responsible supply chain that protects forests, respects human rights and supports sustainable sourcing. This collaboration contributes to KFC’s ability to deliver high-quality and safe food to consumers.

The company endeavors to strictly adhere to the “Five Freedoms of animal welfare,” widely accepted global standards for raising livestock, in its farming operations, including those of its contracted farmers. CP Foods ensures that animals live in good and comfortable conditions, free from fear or stress. Animals are well-fed according to their ages and species, with access to proper and adequate clean water and nutrition. Chickens are raised “cage-free” in evaporative cooling system houses. The facilities are equipped with automation systems to provide optimal conditions for animals, including water filtration systems and adjusted nutrition to ensure proper development and growth.

CP Foods has implemented the highest animal biosecurity system to protect against diseases and has integrated modern innovative farm technology to monitor real-time animal welfare, ensuring the safety and health of poultry. This results in high-quality, safe products without the use of growth hormones, earning trust from customers worldwide, especially in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and more.

CP Foods is the first Thai private company outside the European Union to certify the British Assured Chicken Production (ACP) Standard and the QS Standard, the highest food safety standard among German and European consumers.

Recently, CP Foods has been working with global space alliances to develop a Thai chicken menu that meets the Space Safety Standard, the highest food safety standard for astronauts.
