The Crespel & Deiters Group announces strategic restructure in response to dynamic growth of its companies

Ibbenbüren/Germany, December 2022 – The Crespel & Deiters Group, one of the significant middle-market wheat processors in Europe, has continuously expanded and diversified its product portfolio in recent years. To establish core processes across the Group, the company’s management will now be overseen by a newly appointed Executive Board.

In a transformational step, a new reporting structure will be established, comprising Managing Director Gustav Deiters, Global Head of Finance (Dr. Inge Hohrath), Global Head of Operations (Steffen von Glahn), and Global Head of Division Food (Phillipp Deiters). The move will also result in personnel changes at the subsidiaries Loryma GmbH and Extruded Cereal Products B.V. (ECP) and sees the departure of previous Managing Directors Chris van der Mark and Henrik Hetzer.

Within recent years, the Crespel & Deiters Group has not only strengthened its existing brands C&D Corrugating & Paper with wheat starch-based adhesives, C&D Technical Applications with natural binders for technical applications, and Loryma, which produces wheat-based food ingredients, but also built up two new segments while incorporating a further subsidiary: The Trigea and Crespeo divisions for feed and pet applications, and Extruded Cereal Products B.V., based in the Netherlands, which specialises in extrusion technology. As a result of this advancing globalisation, distribution offices in England and France, as well as a location in North America, have also been expanded.

Through the establishment of the Executive Board, core subjects such as supply chain, marketing, and product management, finance/controlling, and quality management topics can be handled across the Group. As part of the restructure, ECP’s CFO Chris van der Mark, who is taking well-deserved retirement at the end of the year, will be replaced by Philipp Deiters and Steffen von Glahn. Together with Michael Kürten, they form the new management trio of ECP B.V., which is actively supported by the two authorised officers Bas Heeren (Head of Site Helmond) and Ruud Huvenaars (Head of Finance ECP).

Henrik Hetzer, Managing Director of Loryma since 2013, will leave the company on 31 December 2022 to pursue new opportunities. Gustav Deiters will be the new Managing Director of Loryma GmbH.

Both departing Managing Directors recorded numerous successes in their positions, all of which contributed significantly to the success and growth of the corporate group.

Gustav Deiters, Managing Director of the Crespel & Deiters Group, says: “Having a successful future in sight for our growing corporate group, the establishment of the Executive Board is the right and logical step. We would like to expressly thank Henrik Hetzer and Chris van der Mark for their successful commitment, loyalty and great contributions over the past years to further develop our internationally operating family business. We wish them all the best for their new stages in life.”
