Worldwide demand for alcohol-free beers is continuing to grow. More and more breweries are responding to this trend and are marketing their own products. As an experienced provider of turnkey brewery systems, Ziemann Holvrieka supports its customers with customized solutions for the production of non-alcoholic beer – regardless of the production process.

Elixr is Ziemann Holvrieka’s economical and reliable solution for removing alcohol by means of membrane technology. The system, based on reverse osmosis, permits a reduction of the alcohol content to less than 0.05% by volume while retaining the aromas and ingredients that characterize high-quality beer.

Elixr – flexible, efficient, scalable

The Elixr line includes standardized equipment for the most common batch sizes. Continuous systems can also be provided in addition to batch processes. These systems ensure effective retention of volatile aroma components by using highly selective membranes. Thanks to their compact configuration, they can be integrated into existing production environments without taking up a lot of space. Their standardized design also facilitates rapid processing.

Complete integration into existing processes

Ziemann Holvrieka offers its Elixr systems as standalone units or as a part of comprehensive turnkey solutions. Besides dealcoholization, integration of Elixr can include components like water treatment, dosing stations, carbonation, pasteurization, and joint recipe development. Continuous production lines geared to customers’ needs are the result.

Membrane technology meets brewing expertise

Ziemann Holvrieka has collaborated with the Dutch membrane specialist Wafilin Systems to develop and implement Elixr. This partnership combines Wafilin Systems’ decades-long expertise in sustained membrane technology with Ziemann Holvrieka’s broad knowledge in the brewing industry. Together, the two companies provide highly effective, integrated solutions from a single source.

At drinktec in Munich (September 15 to 19), visitors can taste an alcohol-free beer produced with Elixr at Ziemann Holvrieka’s booth C2-202.
