“The Art of Sharing” on 29 October 2024 brings together IGNIV Bangkok’s cosmopolitan fine dining rooted in combining Swiss origins with local Thai ingredients, and pairs it with NAE:UM’s contemporary Seoul cuisine amidst an air of culinary conviviality.

One-Michelin-starred IGNIV Bangkok, led by Head Chef Arne Riehn, welcomes Chef Louis Han and NAE:UM’s contemporary Seoul cuisine for a dining experience that spotlights The Art of Sharing. The concept of sharing is integral to the IGNIV brand, celebrating the joy of sharing exceptional artistry and time spent together by the kitchen teams—in celebration of culture and cuisine.

Courses will consist of multiple dishes served at once for diners to enjoy in harmony. For a one-day-only gastronomic affair on 29 October, IGNIV X NAE:UM will showcase a 5-sequence sharing experience, presenting a blend of cosmopolitan fine dining rooted in Swiss origins with local Thai ingredients, alongside contemporary Seoul cuisine that hails back nostalgic flavours.

This is the first collaborative edition of The Art of Sharing experience, with plans to be the start of many.

Renowned for breaking the rules of fine dining with exquisite plates presented in a sharing format, IGNIV is founded by Chef Andreas Caminada, a globally renowned culinary pioneer and trailblazer in creative contemporary Swiss cuisine. IGNIV, meaning ‘nest’ in Chef Andreas’ native Romansh, is a nod to the restaurant’s inspiration of a bird building a new nest through gathering materials from its environment. With two sister establishments recognised by the Michelin Guide in Switzerland, IGNIV Bangkok carves out its own distinctive identity by skilfully integrating the highest quality Thai ingredients with Head Chef Arne Riehn’s signature creativity. Complemented by a wine programme that encourages interaction and discovery, this warm and convivial service is synonymous with dining in a friend’s home.

IGNIV X NAE:UM — “The Art of Sharing”

Both Chef Louis Han and Chef Arne Riehn share a culinary ethos that values the blend of tradition and innovation. Chef Arne’s work at IGNIV Bangkok celebrates Swiss origin with a strong emphasis on seasonality, combining European culinary traditions with the creativity of using local artisanal ingredients. Similarly, Chef Louis Han draws from his memories of South Korea, merging his heritage with his global experiences to create innovative dishes that evoke nostalgia. At the one-day-only dining event, diners can expect a harmonious blend of Swiss, Thai, and Contemporary Korean influences, showcasing the chefs’ shared dedication to creating meaningful, memorable dining experiences through their imaginative use of ingredients and storytelling through food.

“I’m incredibly excited to welcome Chef Louis Han to Bangkok and into the IGNIV kitchens. My travels through Southeast Asia and Thailand have shown me the richness of local flavours, from the farms to the street vendors. When I met Chef Han, his innovative approach and his ability to evoke memories through his cuisine resonated deeply with me. I look forward to blending our shared passion for combining traditional flavours with contemporary techniques to create a truly unforgettable dining experience.”,” says Chef Arne.

“I’m very happy to collaborate with Chef Arne for this very unique dining event. As a Korean, The Art Of Sharing is a culinary experience that I can connect deeply with, since shared meals are a big part of our culture. I look forward to treating our guests to innovative dishes that bring together the best of our worlds.” says Chef Han.

About NAE:UM

One-Michelin-starred NAE:UM is the inaugural restaurant of Chef Louis Han. Inspired by nostalgia for his native Korea and his global sensibilities, Chef Louis introduces ‘contemporary Seoul cuisine’ – a style that goes beyond mere interpretations of Korean classics or simple renditions of provincial dishes. Instead, the cuisine models itself on the culinary vibrancy of Seoul, embracing the city’s international influences in food and ingredients, and its blend of old and new. The result is innovative dishes with a sense of familiarity, and flavours that are nuanced and layered, new and coherent. With its elegant contemporary vibe and the chef’s personal attention to every detail, NAE:UM is dedicated to delicious moments and lingering memories. NAE:UM opened its doors in 2021 and has since won dining accolades, such as a Michelin Star for consecutive years since 2022, and a placement on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants extended list since 2023. Chef Louis was awarded the Michelin Guide’s Young Chef Award in 2022.
