From pizza cheese to global dairy solutions: Prima Cheese unveils bold new brand to mark a decade of international growth

Nearly 30 years since its founding in the North East of England, Prima Cheese has unveiled a bold new brand — a striking identity that reflects its evolution from the UK’s leading pizza cheese processor to a global provider of functional dairy solutions.

Family-run and fiercely independent, Prima has spent the past decade transforming its offer, supplying tailored cheese blends and dairy innovations to food manufacturers, foodservice operators, and distributors in over 50 countries worldwide — from the Caribbean to Southeast Asia.

Now, following a strategic rebrand developed with creative agency Make Us Care, Prima is ready to step even further into the global spotlight. The new identity reflects not only how far the business has come — but where it’s going.

Beyond pizza cheese: A future defined by functional dairy solutions

“People used to know us as the go-to for pizza cheese,” says Co-CEO Nima Beni. “But over the past decade, we’ve outgrown that box. Today, we’re problem-solvers — blending technical knowledge, dairy science, and market insight to build cheese solutions that work anywhere in the world.”

As pioneers in the art and science of blending, Prima develops bespoke dairy formulations tailored to each customer’s operational needs — whether that means longer shelf life for export markets, specific melt and stretch profiles for commercial kitchens, or reliable performance in unpredictable supply chains.

This shift has seen export volumes surge by 40% since 2020, with FY2024 shipments averaging 25 containers per month — equivalent to 484 metric tonnes. These gains reflect not only increased demand, but Prima’s ability to support partners in markets where cheese consumption is still emerging.

Precision you can taste

The core of Prima’s offer lies in precision — using data, lab testing, and sensory analysis to create consistent, high-performance products, regardless of natural dairy variation.

This technical precision is underpinned by Prima’s agile global supply chain and its new Commercial Hub in London — home to the company’s expanding marketing and sales teams. Together, they keep Prima connected to both production and market demands, shaping smarter, faster decisions across the business.

Designed for what’s next

The new brand — vibrant, confident, and proudly disruptive — sets the tone for Prima’s next chapter. One that includes launching new products and solutions, entering new sectors, and increasing support for partners through training, trade shows, and campaign toolkits.

There’s no guidebook for what we’re doing,” says Co-CEO Nagma Ebanks- Beni MBE, who recently established Prima’s London base. “This rebrand reflects how far we’ve come — from a regional supplier to a global business shaped by insight and ambition. Our commercial team knows these markets inside out, and that knowledge is what will drive our next chapter — from smarter product development to sharper strategies across all of our markets and beyond.”

With a reputation for quality, a flair for innovation, and a growing global footprint, Prima is reshaping how the world sees and uses cheese.
