Float Foods, a Singapore start-up enterprise pioneering food technologies and innovation in plant-based foods, will be supporting Veganuary with the launch of an OnlyEg® campaign in January in partnership with Singapore restaurants.
Veganuary is the world’s largest vegan movement, inspiring people to try vegan for January and throughout the rest of the year. Vegan products do not contain animal products such as meat, fish, eggs, cheese, or leather. Founded by Jane Land and Matthew Glover, the first event was held in January 2014. More than 620,000 people took the pledge to try a vegan diet in 2022, and over 1,500 new vegan products were launched.
Veganuary encourages and supports people and businesses alike to move to a plant-based diet to protect the environment, prevent animal suffering, and improve millions of people’s health.
“A vegan diet is one of the best things we can do for the environment. By going vegan, not only do we reduce greenhouse gases, but also global acidification, land use and water use. It is probably the single biggest way to reduce our impact on planet Earth,” Cavaliere Giovanni Viterale, General Manager for Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa.
“Here at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa, we are proud to be doing our part for the environment by supporting OnlyEg® in Veganuary as one of the many initiatives to achieve The Singapore Green Plan 2030.”
Restaurant partners who will be participating in the Veganuary campaign incorporating OnlyEg® into their menus include Swissotel, Park Royal Pickering, Sofitel Sentosa, and well-known cafes and restaurants such as OldTown White Coffee, Potato Head, The Hainan Story, Bangkok Jam, bamboo bowls, Erwin’s Gastrobar, Level 33, Lime House, Solo Ristorante, Ling Zhi, Afterglow, The Plant Food, Makan Vegan, Warung Ijo, Daily Green, Naked Earth, and S17 Community Kitchen.
“At bamboo bowls our whole concept is to have a plant forward menu, so it made sense to partner with OnlyEg®. Our primary mission is to focus on health and sustainability, so we are proud to be a part of Veganuary,” Chef Justin Hammond, bamboo bowls.
The menus will include OnlyEg®’s ready-to-eat products: the OnlyEg® Shreds, OnlyEg® Omelette, OnlyEg® Tamagoyaki, and OnlyEg® Patties. OnlyEg® offers 8 to 12 grams of plant-based protein per 100gm, over 70 per cent less saturated fats than a regular chicken egg, zero cholesterol, and no artificial preservatives, colourings, or flavourings.
