Sake Sling Launches in the UK, Revolutionising the Ready-To-Drink Market With Sake-Based Cocktails

The founders of RTD cocktail Sake Sling have announced the product’s launch in the UK in a pair of innovative and delicious flavours. The drink is the brainchild of the renowned sake producers at Daimon Brewery, in consultation with legendary bartender Wayne Collins and respected beverage innovators Liquid Fusion, and uses the distinctive umami-laden flavour of the iconic Japanese drink sake alongside a range of natural flavourings, including Yuzu & Melon, Mandarin & Cherry and more.

A combination of traditional Japanese flavours and an approach rooted in contemporary mixology, Sake Sling is a take on the classic Singapore Sling and the associated style of mixed drinks, first created in the Raffles Hotel in Singapore in 1915 and pioneered in the modern era by bartender Wayne Collins, who has overseen the team’s work in creating Sake Sling’s range of unique recipes. Made with sake from the celebrated Daimon brewery in Japan, Sake Sling’s range has a complex and delicious umami base that makes them a natural pairing for Asian dishes, as well as a cocktail that can be enjoyed anytime with friends.

The launch marks an innovative new subsector of the thriving RTD category, with both the Sling format and sake itself being relatively underexplored in canned cocktails until Sake Sling’s entrance into the market. Backed up by the skill and experience provided by the 200-year-old Daimon brewery, Wayne Collins, and the whole project team, the drink is a perfect entry point into sake’s distinctive flavour profile for those unfamiliar with it, while also being an exciting new twist for those already enthusiastic about the Japanese fermented rice beverage.

Drinkers looking to experience Sake Sling’s range can purchase the product at specialist e-commerce and premium independent retailers, with a full stockist list to be announced soon, while it will also be found at modern Asian restaurants, food venues, and bars.

With an ABV of 5.5 percent and an RRP of £4.95 per 250ml can, Sake Sling will find a home in an RTD cocktail market projected to increase its market share to 8 percent in 2023, and an audience of discerning drinkers excited to discover the distinctive flavour of sake brought to life with fruits and botanicals combined with the expertise of a world-leading bartender, resulting in an exciting new cocktail experience characterised by tradition, flavour, and harmony.
