FOOMA Japan 2024, held from June 4 to 7 at Tokyo Big Sight, concluded with significant success, highlighting the theme “Breakthrough FOOMA.” The event showcased the latest innovations in food manufacturing technologies, bringing together around 1,000 companies and over 5,000 solutions. This year’s theme focused on overcoming current challenges in the food industry through technological advancements and sustainability.
The exhibition was divided into 21 categories: food manufacturing, processing, packaging, refrigeration, robotics, AI, and food tech. A notable highlight was the Startup Zone, which featured 30 companies, half of which were new exhibitors. This zone aimed to foster innovation and collaboration between startups, venture companies, and research institutions, showcasing cutting-edge automation advancements and sustainable solutions.
The event saw a remarkable turnout, with over 100,000 visitors from around 50 countries, reflecting the growing international interest in Japanese food manufacturing technologies. This included around 5,500 international attendees, a significant increase from previous years.
FOOMA Japan 2024 emphasized the importance of digital transformation in the food manufacturing sector. Initiatives such as the FOOMA Award 2024 recognized outstanding innovations, while digital tools like the FOOMA App and virtual booth tours enhanced the exhibition experience, allowing for seamless interaction between exhibitors and visitors.
