The South Tyrolean food processing company VOG Products is offering the food and drink industry fermented bases for producing cider and apple cider vinegar – high-quality and individually tailored to customers’ needs.

With their standardised, consistent quality, VOG Products’ pre-fermented raw materials are an ideal source product for high-quality cider or apple cider vinegar. “For over a year now, fermented bases have been adding to our wide-ranging product portfolio. We’re seeing a growing market, with a great deal of interest from customers,” reports Christoph Tappeiner, Director of VOG Products.

There’s a growing trend towards apple cider vinegar, for example, which brings a fruity note into the kitchen. Cider is an interesting drink for many European markets and, with its pleasant apple note, is offered as an alternative to low-alcohol drinks.

Juice and concentrate made from high-quality raw materials, which VOG Products obtains exclusively from Trentino-South Tyrol, is used as a basis for cider and vinegar. “Full traceability and a direct link to our producers in the region – coupled with strict controls throughout the entire supply chain – are a guarantee of quality and product safety. We are also able to guarantee continuous availability and security of supply,” Tappeiner emphasises, referring to the producer organisation’s unique structure.

VOG Products is owned by three producers’ organisations from South Tyrol and Trentino, plus 17 South Tyrolean fruit cooperatives based on around 6,000 fruit-growing families who are passionate about cultivating their apple orchards in close touch with nature.

In addition to the safe and high-quality raw materials, the South Tyrolean fruit processing company has the necessary structure, size, and expertise to act as a product development partner. By collaborating with the in-house development department, individual solutions and recipes are developed in close collaboration with customers – and from special requirements as regards colour to customised specifications, the wide product range leaves no requirement unfulfilled.

The fermented bases are also available as an organic option. The EU organic label identifies products that comply with EU legislation on organic farming. VOG Products can draw on products from organic associations such as Demeter, Bioland, Naturland, and Bio Suisse, which rely on stricter rules.

It is not only the content but also the packaging that VOG Products individually tailors to customers’ requirements. Versatile packaging solutions include tankers, drums, bulk containers, and, last but not least, the convenient bag-in-box.
