Float Foods, a Singapore start-up enterprise pioneering food technologies and innovations in plant-based foods, announced today that it has signed a distribution deal with Bidfood Middle East, the leading foodservice distributor in the Middle East, to bring its OnlyEgTM products to the region starting with the UAE. The Middle East is home to a rapidly developing plant-based food industry with a forecasted CAGR of 6.45 percent between 2023 to 2029*.

The distribution deal will give Float Foods access to the extensive network of airlines, hotels, restaurant chains, and institutional companies that Bidfood manages in the Middle East and potentially in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Oman.

The product rollout will include Float Foods’ OnlyEg TM range of ready-to-eat products, including the OnlyEgTM Shreds, OnlyEgTM Omelette, OnlyEgTM Tamagoyaki, and OnlyEgTM Patties, usable in a variety of culinary applications. OnlyEg TM delivers 8 to 12 grams of plant-based protein per 100gm, over 70 per cent less saturated fats, with zero cholesterol, artificial preservatives, colourings or flavourings.

“We at Bidfood Middle East are seeing increasing demand for plant based options from our customers. Bringing OnlyEg TM to the Middle East market is part of our strategy to provide the best plant-based solutions to our customers and a conscious decision to supply food security & support our sustainability journey.  Consumers are increasingly looking for clean and sustainable meal options. We believe that the addition of OnlyEg TM to our portfolio will give consumers wider choices and healthier options.” commented Hisham Aljamil, CEO of Bidfood Middle East.

OnlyEg TM has been on a massive expansion strategy evidenced by recent distribution agreements signed in Hong Kong, Malaysia, and, most recently, Australia, in addition to distribution at its flagship base in Singapore. OnlyEg TM plans to launch in these new markets by June.

“We are delighted that Bidfood Middle East has selected OnlyEg TM to offer egg-free, cholesterol-free and healthy food choices for its customers in the Middle East. Mission-aligned partners are integral in helping companies like Float Foods fulfill our goals for a healthier, cleaner and environmentally conscious planet,” said Vinita Choolani, CEO of Float Foods. “At the same time, we want to offer global-centric food choices and innovative menu creations. There is no reason we cannot have both,” she continued.

OnlyEg TM will be featured at the Dubai Gulfood event on 20-24 Feb 2023. The brand also plans to unveil a range of new products at the Food & Hotel Asia 2023 trade show in Singapore from 25 – 28 April 2023.
